How They Work: Choosing the Right Protection
Systems 1 & 2: Responsive Safety Integration When these systems detect an obstacle, the machine instantly pauses high-speed downward travel. The operator must then remove the obstacle or choose to continue the stroke at a restricted safety speed. In certain cases, such as bending deep boxes or complex flanges, this may require entire or part of bending phase to be performed at this slower safety speed to remain compliant.
System 3: The “Muting” Solution System 3 utilizes more advanced safety logic. Before beginning a production run, the system performs a “Teach-In” stroke to measure the exact travel distance between the punch and the workpiece.
By combining this real-time data with the CNC controller’s logic, System 3 can safely maintain fastest possible cycle times while meeting highest safety standards.
